Who is Mikey Toner Jr?
A native of Rhode Island, Mikey Toner Jr started his competitive racing career in April 2011 at 10 years old. He first slid behind the wheel of the go-karts at F1 Boston in their Junior League. Toner is a 3 Time Champion Driver at F1 Boston winning his first 3 Seasons in competitive racing! He then set his sights higher and moved up into oval track racing. Toner formed Toner Racing and began competing in the Seekonk Youth Racing Association (SYRA) racing Mini Cups - ½ scale NASCAR style cars He earned the prestigious Rookie of the Year came in 2nd Place in Point Standings 3 times, with 7 Wins in his 3 seasons in SYRA.
Toner's stock-car racing career started in 2017 in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Late Model Division. He raced a partial season in 2017 wearing many hats in the Toner Racing Team. He was driver, crew chief, and mechanic for the #56 fine tuning his skill behind the wheel.
The 2018 season brought many changes for Toner. Graduating high school and moving to Charlotte, NC to attend UNC Charlotte for Mechanical Engineering along with splitting his time between 2 tracks, Seekonk Speedway in Seekonk MA and Star Speedway in Epping NH. Despite all the chaos, Toner remained focused on improving both on and off the track and had a successful 6 races.
2019 was a successful year for the 18 year old driver earning his first career Late Model Win and another 3 top 5 finishes in his 6 races at Star Speedway while home for the summer from college. Toner caught the eye of many at the track and was humbled by 2 articles written about the success of the Toner Racing Team and his skill on and off the track.
2020 brought on a new chapter in Toner's career. He competed part time in the inauguaral season of Carolina Pro Late Model Series (CPLMS) for Toughbuilt Racing.
2021 came with exciting new challenges. He began working with the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) in their break out season, worked on tour with SRX working side by side with some of the boggest names in NASCAR. He also found time to run a limited scedhule with 1X Racing in the CPLMS
2022 is an exciting year for Toner. He graduated with an Engineering degree from UNCC in May and is looking forward to making 2022 a successful season between working for the SRX Summer Tour, racing a limited scedule with 1X Racing, and working endlessly to live out his dream of NASCAR Engineer..
